Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and advanced Excel skills are essential.

Build your career as an Accounting Specialist

The Accounting Specialist will be responsible for day-to-day accounting functions, helping with the monthly close process, account reconciliations, participating in the external audit process, assisting in improving accounting processes by evaluating opportunities to add value, and preparing internal and external reporting packages for management, investors, and key vendors. As part of a lean and dynamic team, this role will have a tremendous opportunity for impact and ownership from day one, including helping us build a finance foundation that scales with our growth.

Job Challenges

  • Support in the accounting closing process, to accomplish timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close procedures for certain key balance sheet and income statement accounts (including preparing journal entries and account reconciliations).
  • Preparation of the monthly analytical review of the main accounts fluctuations.
  • Responsible for the accounts payable monthly reconciliation process.
  • Responsible for the payment processors balances monthly reconciliation process.
  • Responsible for the Shipping and Fulfillment cost monthly analysis and reconciliation, leading the topic from the Accounting Department in the corresponding Squad.
  • Responsible for the Wholesales monthly reconciliation process (including invoices and payments control and commissions records), leading the topic from the Accounting Department in the corresponding Squad and Tribe.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, standards, regulations, and company policies. This includes staying up-to-date with changes in accounting standards and implementing necessary adjustments.
  • Maintain and improve current accounting processes and infrastructure according to the new Company businesses. Assist in improving the accounting and financial reporting process by evaluating processes and opportunities to add value and efficiency.
  • Participate in the preparation for internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation, explanations, and support to auditors.

Minimum Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience at a Big Accounting firm, specializing in auditing or BPO services for Retail or E-commerce companies or
  • 1+ years of experience as Senior at a Big Accounting firm, specializing in auditing or BPO services for Retail or E-commerce companies, combined with 2+ years as a Senior or Specialist in Accounting within a Retail company.
  • Experience with inventory valuation analysis and reconciliation is a must.
  • Excellent spoken and written English is a must.
  • Advanced Excel is a must.
  • Strong accounting experience. IFRS is a must. SOX / US GAAP is a plus.
  • Experience with Netsuite ERP will be valued.
