Bottle Rocket Search is recruiting an Accounting Specialist for a confidential client. We’re looking for someone who enjoys getting the numbers right, solving problems and bringing ideas to the team.

You’ll be hands-on across the day-to-day finance operation, working with colleagues and suppliers in the US and internationally. If you’re organised, curious and the person who spots a discrepancy before anyone else notices it, keep reading.

The opportunity

This role covers accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger activity and month-end close. You’ll help keep financial records accurate, payments moving and the team working from reliable information.

It suits someone who takes ownership, asks useful questions and follows things through. You’ll need to work independently in a remote setting while staying connected with the people who rely on your work.

What you’ll get stuck into

• Process and verify invoices from local and international vendors, checking accuracy and resolving queries.
• Support accounts receivable and maintain accurate, up-to-date financial records.
• Prepare and execute payment runs across multiple entities, currencies and payment methods.
• Complete bank and corporate credit card reconciliations, investigate differences and maintain supporting records.
• Prepare journal entries and support month-end close, including accruals and prepayments.
• Maintain fixed asset records, including acquisitions, disposals and depreciation.
• Handle vendor onboarding, payment enquiries and disputes professionally.
• Reconcile vendor statements and prepare ageing reports and analysis.
• Work with colleagues across departments to resolve issues and keep financial information flowing.
• Spot opportunities to make everyday processes clearer and more efficient.

What you’ll bring

• At least two years of accounting experience covering AP, AR and general ledger work.
• A solid understanding of accounting principles, including accruals, prepayments and fixed assets.
• Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills and confidence working with detailed financial information.
• Excellent attention to detail, backed by the ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities.
• Clear communication skills and a helpful, collaborative approach to colleagues and suppliers.
• The initiative to investigate a problem, ask a question and follow through on the answer.
• A proactive approach to remote working: organised, responsive and comfortable taking responsibility.

A few welcome extras

Experience with SAP Business One or accounts payable automation would be useful, but neither is essential. We’re interested in your accounting foundations, how you approach your work and what you could bring to the team.
