La Cava Jacobson, P.A. in Tampa is seeking an Accounting Specialist to join our Accounting Department. You will input new matters into the accounting system for Time Entry and process prebills and invoices.

The role requires accuracy in high-volume data entry, ability to work with Excel and Word, and strong communication. You will reconcile payments, track billing issues, and support billing and budgeting reporting.

Qualifications

• Experience in law firm accounting or billing is preferred.
• Three years of experience minimum.
• AA/Bachelor's degree a plus but not mandatory.
• Proficiency with Excel and Word; basic PC skills.
• Ability to handle high-volume data entry with accuracy.

Responsibilities

Full Job Description

La Cava Jacobson, P.A. is currently seeking an Accounting Specialist to join our Accounting Department in our Tampa location.

Primary Responsibilities

• Input new matters into accounting system for Time Entry.
• Deposit & Post Payments received.
• Reconcile payment reductions on invoices.
• Reviews time/expense entry data to ensure accurate data input.
• Process Prebills and Invoices.
• Upload invoices via EDI websites.
• Track outstanding billing issues, follows through and resolves in a timely and professional manner.
• Follow up on past due invoices in a timely manner.
• Billing and Budgeting Reporting.
• Bank Reconciliations/Some Month End Processes.

Skills & Abilities

• Knowledge of the Orion Financial Management System - preferred but not required.
• Law Firm Accounting/Billing experience preferred.
• Ability to handle high volume data entry with accuracy and acute attention to detail.
• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Contribute to building a positive team spirit; support everyone’s efforts to succeed.
• Ability to multi-task in an efficient and timely manner.
• Ability to work independently and be an effective team member and display initiative.
• Be consistently at work and on time and able to commit to the hours necessary to complete assignments; work independently.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education - AA/Bachelor's Degree a plus but not mandatory.
• Proficient in Excel and Word. Possess basic PC skills, ability to use copier, scanner, printer.
