Full Job Description

La Cava Jacobson, P.A. is currently seeking an Accounting Specialist to join our Accounting Department in our Tampa office location.

Primary Responsibilities

• Vendor payables review and input.
• Input new matters into accounting system for time entry.
• Deposit and post payments received/Prepare cash report.
• Reconcile payment reductions on invoices.
• Reviews time/expense entry data to ensure accurate data input.
• Process prebills and invoices.
• Upload invoices via EDI websites.
• Track outstanding billing issues, follows through and resolves in a timely and professional manner.
• Follow up on past due invoices in a timely manner.
• Team Player - help where needed in Accounting, Billing, and Payables

Skills & Abilities

• Knowledge of the Orion Financial Management System – preferred but not required.
• Law Firm Accounting/Billing experience preferred.
• Ability to handle high volume data entry with accuracy and acute attention to detail.
• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Contribute to building a positive team spirit; support everyone’s efforts to succeed.
• Ability to multi-task in an efficient and timely manner.
• Ability to work independently and be an effective team member and display initiative.
• Be consistently at work and on time and able to commit to the hours necessary to complete assignments; work independently.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education – Associate's Degree a plus but not mandatory.
• Proficient in Excel and Word. Possess basic PC skills, ability to use copier, scanner, printer.
• Minimum of three years’ experience.
