Job summary

Central Minnesota Mental Health Center in Saint Cloud, MN is seeking an Accounting Specialist at our Waite Park location. You will process accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll, with duties shared to ensure proper segregation of duties for audit purposes.

The role requires a high school degree or GED, a DHS background check, and a valid driver’s license. A 2-year accounting degree or equivalent experience is preferred. We offer benefits and a supportive team environment.

Responsibilities

• Accounts Receivable: prepare invoices for grants and contracts; reconcile bank deposits; prepare monthly allowance calculations; assist with bank reconciliations.
• Accounts Payable: code and enter invoices; obtain signatures; issue checks/ACH; scan AP docs; ensure 1099 setup.
• Payroll: bi-weekly payroll processing; verify adjustments; prepare tax wires and direct deposits; post payroll journal entries; balance year-end payroll totals.

Opportunity

Central Minnesota Mental Health Center (CMMHC) is seeking a proven leader to serve as the Accounting Specialist in our Waite Park location. The Accounting Specialist is responsible for processing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll for the Agency. This position is shared with another Accounting Specialist to provide a segregation of duties for audit purposes.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Accounts Receivable:
  • Prepare invoices for all grants and contract on a monthly or quarterly basis.
  • Reconcile bank deposits from the Business Office.
  • Prepare and post monthly allowance calculations.
  • Assist with preparation of bank reconciliation.
• Accounts Payable:
  • Perform accounts payable processing which includes coding and entering invoices, obtaining required signatures, issuing checks and ACH payments, scanning AP documentation in accounting software and storing physical copy.
  • Ensure all vendors have the proper 1099 setup based on W-9.
  • Process employee expensive reimbursements.
  • Code and reconcile credit card statements.
• Payroll:
  • Prepare and process bi-weekly payroll.
  • Review payroll adjustments for accuracy and time reports during processing.
  • Prepare payroll tax wire, direct deposit file, and child support file.
  • Post payroll journal entries after each payroll.
  • Balance year end payroll totals to ensure accurate W-2 processing.
