Job summary

Busey Bank in Decatur, IL is seeking an Accounting Specialist who supports the Financial Services Manager with accounts payable, receivable and client billing. This on-site role requires meticulous ledger work and timely data entry to keep financial records accurate.

You will handle high-volume reconciliations, prepare AR invoices, generate internal billing reports, and cross-train to cover other accounting duties. A Associate's Degree in Accounting is required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile large volumes daily and monthly (GL and bank) and follow up on outstanding items.

• Enter daily and monthly general ledger entries.
• Cross-train and back-up other accounting duties.
• Take on additional responsibilities as assigned.

Position Summary

The Accounting Specialist operates with guidance from the Financial Services Manager, and specializes in various areas such as Accounts Payable, Receivable and Client Billing.

This is an on-site position located in Decatur, IL.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Responsible for large volume of daily and monthly reconciliations, both general ledger and bank, which includes follow up and resolution of outstanding items on reconciliations
• Responsible for preparing the monthly A/R Client Invoice Billings
• Preparing Monthly Internal Billing Reports
• Complete various data entry tasks including daily and monthly general ledger entries
• Expected to cross-train and provide back-up for various other accounting duties
• Willingness to take on additional responsibilities and tasks as assigned

Education & Experience

Knowledge of:

• Good working knowledge of accounting principles and good analytical skills
• Strong organizational skills and detail oriented
• Strong oral and written communication skills
  

Ability to:

• Complete all duties, including data entry, with a high degree of accuracy
• Work independently and perform duties under frequent time pressures and deadlines
• Be proficient on 10 key calculator
  

Education and Training:

• Requires a an Associate's Degree in Accounting, bachelor's strongly preferred
• Requires knowledge of Microsoft Office with a strong emphasis on Excel, database experience preferred

Compensation and Benefits

Salary offered is based on factors, including but not limited to, the job duties, required qualifications and relevant experience, and local market trends. The role may be eligible for bonus or incentives based on company and individual performance.

(Base Pay Range: $20 - 25/hr)
