Position Summary

The Balancing Specialist is responsible for balancing core applications, correspondent banks, general ledger accounts and internal checking accounts.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepare account reconciliations on core applications - checking, savings, loans, safe deposit and time deposits to the general ledger from core reports.
• Prepare account reconcilations on correspondent bank accounts.
• Prepare account reconcilations on general ledger and internal checking accounts.
• Manage a number of general ledger balances to application totals using Core Balancing tool.
• Reconcile Teller and ATM cash and prepare variation reports.
• Reconcile official checks and perform various functions to support the program.
• Reconcile Interest on Lawyers Trust accounts and submit interest earned to each states Bar Foundation.
• Reconcile Florida Documentary Stamps and submit report for filing and payment.
• Reconcile monthly Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae and FHLB reconciliations to identify differences.
• Review reports and reconcilements of banks purchased for conversion to our system.
• Work closely with other departments on research to make sure entries clear timely.
• Support internal and external audits through timely and accurate completion of all reconcilements.

Education & Experience

Knowledge of:

• Strong oral and written communication skills

• Analyze and interpret numerical data
• Perform duties and make decisions under frequent time pressures

Education and Training

• Requires a High School Diploma with an Associate's degree in Accounting or Bookkeeping or equivalent banking experience a plus.
• Requires knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary offered is based on factors, including but not limited to, the job duties, required qualifications and relevant experience, and local market trends. The role may be eligible for bonus or incentives based on company and individual performance.

(Base Pay Range: $20.00-$22.00/hr)
