Job summary

Busey Bank in Decatur, IL seeks an Accounting Specialist to handle accounts payable, receivable and client billing under the guidance of the Financial Services Manager. This is an on-site role in Decatur, IL.

You will reconcile daily and monthly items, prepare invoices and internal billing reports, perform GL data entry, and cross-train for other accounting duties. A focus on accuracy, communication, and meeting deadlines is essential.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of accounting principles and strong analytical skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Proficient in data entry with high accuracy and speed.
• Associate's Degree in Accounting; Bachelor's preferred.
• Experience with Excel and databases is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Handle large volumes of daily and monthly reconciliations for GL and bank, resolving outstanding items.
• Prepare monthly A/R client invoice billings.
• Prepare monthly internal billing reports.
• Complete daily and monthly general ledger data entry.
• Cross-train and provide back-up for other accounting duties.
• Take on additional responsibilities as assigned.

Position Summary

The Accounting Specialist operates with guidance from the Financial Services Manager, and specializes in various areas such as Accounts Payable, Receivable and Client Billing. This is an on-site position located in Decatur, IL.

Duties & Responsibilities

Responsible for large volume of daily and monthly reconciliations, both general ledger and bank, which includes follow up and resolution of outstanding items on reconciliations Responsible for preparing the monthly A/R Client Invoice Billings Preparing Monthly Internal Billing Reports Complete various data entry tasks including daily and monthly general ledger entries Expected to cross-train and provide back-up for various other accounting duties Willingness to take on additional responsibilities and tasks as assigned

Education & Experience
