Job summary

True Oil LLC is seeking an Accounting Specialist to join our on-site team in Casper, Wyoming. You will support accounting staff, handle transactional entries, reconciliations, and assist in monthly close cycles while ensuring compliance with controls.

The role requires a high school diploma with 3+ years in accounting, proficiency in Excel/Word/Outlook, and strong communication skills to collaborate with internal and external partners.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent with 3+ years of accounting experience.
  • Proficiency in accounting tasks.
  • Ability to read and interpret invoices, reports and accounts data.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Train, assist and review work of accounting assistants.
  • Verify that controls and processes have been followed.
  • Perform transactional accounting entries and account reconciliations.
  • Work with internal and external customers to resolve questions.
  • Participate in month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes.
  • Collaborate with operations to complete processes.

What You’ll Do:

  • Act as a resource for accounting assistants by providing training, answering questions, and reviewing work.
  • Verifies that controls and processes have been followed.
  • Performs transactional accounting entries.
  • Performs account reconciliations.
  • Works with internal and external customers to resolve questions/problems.
  • Performs higher level projects as assigned.
  • Participates in monthly, quarterly and annual close processes to ensure all relevant data has been captured in appropriate period.
  • Works with operations to complete processes.

What We’re Looking For:

Required Education, Experience and/or Abilities

  • A high school diploma and three (3) or more years of accounting experience; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
  • Proficiency in accounting tasks
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as invoices, computer reports and accounts receivable or accounts payable reports.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook software applications.
  • Leadership, mentoring, and training skills.

Preferred Education, Experience and/or Abilities

  • Gas Plant accounting experience preferred

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • English language fluency, verbal and written.
  • Acceptable results of a pre-employment background check, credit check and drug/alcohol test.
