Job summary

True Oil LLC in Casper, WY is hiring a full-time accounting specialist to join our growing team. This on-site role supports our sister company Eighty-Eight Oil LLC and helps ensure reconciliations, reports and monthly close activities.

Candidates should have an associate degree in accounting with 0–2 years of experience, basic accounting knowledge (debits/credits) and asset understanding, and the ability to read financial documents. Proficiency in Excel, Outlook and Word is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in accounting with 0–2 years of accounting experience.
• Basic accounting knowledge including debits and credits.
• Understanding of fixed assets and their accounting treatment.
• Ability to read invoices and financial statements.
• Ability to communicate professionally in writing and verbally.
• Ability to calculate financial amounts and indicators.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to the accounting team with reconciliations.
• Perform account reconciliations and routine entries.
• Prepare reports such as sales tax and period-close documentation.
• Ensure entries are properly supported and compliant with procedures.
• Collaborate with operations and other stakeholders to resolve issues.
• Participate in monthly, quarterly and annual close processes.

What You'll Do:

• Provide support to our sister company Eighty-Eight Oil LLC.
• Perform account reconciliations.
• Performstransactional accounting entries.
• Prepare routine reports i.e. sales tax.
• Verify that controls and processes have been followed.
• Ensure all entries are adequately supported, as per procedures.
• Work with operations, other shared services, and other stakeholders to problem solve.
• Participate in monthly, quarterly and annual close processes to ensure all relevant data has been captured in appropriate time period.
• Participate in other projects assigned.

What We're Looking For:

Required Education, Experience and/or Abilities

• An associate’s degree in accounting and zero (0) to two (2) years of experience in an accounting environment; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
• Basic accounting knowledge; debits and credits.
• Basic fixed assets understanding.
• Ability to read professional documents (invoices, various financial statements, emails).
• Ability to correspond in an informative and professional manner.
• Ability to calculate financial amounts and indicators.

Preferred Education, Experience and/or Abilities

• Knowledge of Microsoft applications including Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Oil and gas experience

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

• English language fluency, verbal and written.
• Acceptable results of a pre-employment background check, credit check and drug/alcohol test.
