Job summary

LaSalle Network is hiring an Accounting Specialist in Illinois to handle day-to-day accounts payable, accounts receivable, customer billing and general accounting. This hands-on role requires attention to detail and the ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.

The position is a long-term contract with potential for extension or conversion to permanent. You will work Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with pay ranging from $28–$32/hour depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Prior experience with customer billing (hands-on invoicing).
• Working knowledge of AP and AR processes.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Solid communication skills and customer service mindset.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and standard office tools.
• Experience using an ERP system is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accounts Payable: Prepare and organize documents and supporting information for processing.
• Accounts Payable: Verify invoice details and schedule disbursements.
• Accounts Payable: Obtain approvals for invoice payments (individual and batch).
• Accounts Payable: Support vendor relationships and respond to payment inquiries.
• Accounts Receivable / Billing: Verify transaction and contract details.
• Accounts Receivable / Billing: Calculate charges, refunds, and discounts accurately.
• Accounts Receivable / Billing: Prepare and send customer invoices via ERP system and email.
• Accounts Receivable / Billing: Monitor and follow up on past-due balances; communicate with customer AP contacts.
• Accounts Receivable / Billing: Manage aging and support collections efforts as needed.
• General Accounting: Assist with basic financial reporting by collecting and summarizing information.
• General Accounting: Post transactions and help maintain accurate accounting records.
• General Accounting: Reconcile vendor/customer statements and resolve discrepancies or payment delays.
• General Accounting: Maintain organized electronic and physical filing.
• General Accounting: Follow internal controls and support process improvements.

Overview

We’re partnering with a growing manufacturing organization to hire an Accounting Specialist to support day-to-day Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, customer billing, and general accounting. This is a hands-on role best suited for someone who is detail-oriented, comfortable working cross-functionally, and able to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
