Job description

Vaco is hiring for an Accounting Specialist opportunity in Brunswick OH. This is an onsite position M-F 8-4
$25-30.00/hr


Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Receptionist duties: answering the phone, directing calls, answering the front door, distributing mail
  • Clerical: AP bill input (individually & against POs), check runs & ACH payments, posting vendor payments, invoicing, posting AR payments, credit card processing, bank deposits, journal entries
  • Credit approval & collections
  • Reporting: weekly job reports; financial reporting, other reporting as requested
  • Accounting functions: month-end, quarterly & year-end closings & reconciliations, calculate tax estimates quarterly, gather information for outside Accountant for tax prep
  • Fixed Asset tracking
  • Workers Comp tracking & annual true-up
  • Manage utilities & customer choice programs; manage business insurance renewals
  • Vendor & customer communications, new vendor/customer set-up.
  • Payroll: input (3rd party), new hire set-ups, background checks, E-Verify; manage HR, HR benefits & HR policies, year-end 1099 creation
  • Commission calculations monthly/quarterly payment
  • Filing & managing files; manage mass shredding of financial documents & job reports
  • Annual PCI compliance assessment, annual SAM website update, annual Veterans report, bi-annual Census, assist in Government Contract proposals as needed.
  • Backup to Shipping & Receiving Clerk; Backup to Purchasing
  • Other miscellaneous tasks as needed/assigned
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years of Accounting experience with AP, AR & General Ledger
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Organizational skills, time management skills & ability to prioritize work
  • Attention to detail & problem-solving skills
  • Experience with QuickBooks, Outlook & Microsoft Office Suite
