Job summary

Stepup Scaffold is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager – Financial Reporting to join our Finance team in Memphis, TN. This role leads key financial reporting and close activities for a multi-entity, multi-location organization, including preparing financial statements, consolidations, and internal analyses.

Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, you will strengthen internal controls, ensure U.S. GAAP compliance, and support external audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5–7 years progressive accounting experience with financial reporting and month-end close.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and general ledger accounting.
• Experience with multi-entity accounting, consolidations, and intercompany transactions preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting/ERP systems.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Manufacturing, distribution, or multi-location experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close and reporting activities.
• Prepare and review consolidated financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Oversee general ledger accuracy, reconciliations, journal entries, and accruals.
• Manage intercompany accounting, reconciliations, and eliminations.
• Analyze financial results, trends, and significant variances.
• Prepare management reports and financial analyses to support business decisions.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and established accounting policies.
• Strengthen internal controls and improve financial reporting processes.
• Support external audits, tax reporting, and other financial requirements.

• Partner closely with the Accounting Operations Manager to ensure a seamless transition from transactional accounting through financial close and reporting.

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, including significant financial reporting and month-end close responsibility.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and general ledger accounting.
• Experience preparing and reviewing complete financial statements.
• Experience with multi-entity accounting, consolidations, and intercompany transactions strongly preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting/ERP systems.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• CPA strongly preferred.
• Manufacturing, distribution, or multi-location experience is a plus.
