Job summary

Culbertson Resources Inc. is seeking an Accounting Recruiter to support our Houston-based desk. You will own sourcing, screening, submitting and closing candidates from staff accountants to accounting managers in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

We offer a base salary plus commission and a split-desk structure where the sales team brings in jobs and you focus on recruitment. Hybrid on-site options are available in the Houston area.

Qualifications

• 2+ years recruiting accounting and finance roles at an agency, staffing firm or corporate talent team (Robert Half/Accountemps, Vaco, Lucas Group, Kforce or similar backgrounds welcome)
• Proven record of filling AP/AR, payroll, staff and senior accountant roles, manager and controller roles
• Strong sourcing skills, especially LinkedIn Recruiter and direct outreach
• Disciplined ATS/CRM user who keeps notes and pipeline current

Responsibilities

• Full-cycle accounting recruiting from intake to offer and start date
• Source candidates through database, referrals and direct outreach
• Screen for technical fit: GL, month-end close, reconciliations, AP/AR, payroll, GAAP, ERP systems and CPA status
• Submit qualified shortlists, prepare candidates for interviews, manage offers and counteroffers and closing the candidate
• Build and maintain a ready bench of accounting candidates in the Houston market
• Meet weekly activity targets for calls, submittals, interviews and placements
• Keep every candidate and activity up to date in our ATS/CRM
• Report weekly pipeline metrics end of week and team meetings
• Join intake calls with sales to understand roles and must-haves
• Give clients market feedback on salary, title and candidate availability
• Follow up after placement to protect the guarantee and spot new openings

Job description

We are a Houston-based recruiting firm with 20+ years of executive search experience, now building a high-volume accounting and finance desk. We are adding an Accounting Recruiter to our team who has experience sourcing accounting talent and who can bring executive-search quality to a faster, higher-volume pace.

You will work a split desk: our sales team brings in the job orders, and you own sourcing, screening, submitting and closing candidates through client communication. Positions include staff accountants through accounting managers.

Desk: Recruiting side of a split desk (sales handled separately)

Roles filled: AP/AR, payroll, staff and senior accountants, accounting managers, controllers

Location: Houston area — on-site / hybrid

Compensation: Base + commission

Key Responsibilities

Full-cycle accounting recruiting

• Work multiple accounting and finance requisitions at once, from intake call to offer and start date
• Source candidates through our database, referrals and direct outreach, LinkedIn Recruiter, job boards,
• Screen for technical fit: GL, month-end close, reconciliations, AP/AR, payroll, GAAP, ERP systems (QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, Dynamics) and CPA status
• Submit qualified shortlists quickly, prepare candidates for interviews, manage offers and counteroffers and closing the candidate.

• Build and maintain a ready bench of accounting candidates in the Houston market
• Meet weekly activity targets for calls, submittals, interviews and placements

Partnering with sales and clients

• Join intake calls with the sales team to understand each role, the client's team and their must-haves
• Give clients clear market feedback on salary, title and candidate availability
• Follow up after placement to protect the guarantee and spot new openings

Qualifications:

Required

• 2+ years recruiting accounting and finance roles at an agency, staffing firm or corporate talent team (Robert Half/Accountemps, Vaco, Lucas Group, Kforce or similar backgrounds welcome)
• A proven record of filling AP/AR, payroll, staff and senior accountant roles, manager and controller roles
• Good working knowledge of accounting functions, titles and credentials, sufficient to screen for technical fit
• Comfortable working multiple open roles simultaneously to meet weekly activity and placement targets
• Strong sourcing skills, especially LinkedIn Recruiter and direct outreach
• Disciplined ATS/CRM user who keeps notes and pipeline current

Nice to have

• An existing network of accounting professionals in the Houston market
• Experience with both contract/temp and direct-hire placements
• Background as an accountant or in finance before moving into recruiting
• Experience with energy, manufacturing or logistics accounting teams
