Metropolitan State University seeks an Assistant Professor of Accounting in the College of Business & Management. This full-time, probationary role starts Jan 4, 2027 and requires teaching AIS and Financial/Managerial Accounting in undergraduate and graduate programs across in-person and distance formats.

Qualifications

• A terminal degree (Ph.D or DBA) in accounting or related field; applicants finishing by Aug 2027 may apply.
• Ability to teach undergraduate and graduate accounting courses with diverse learners.
• Record of teaching and service; plan for scholarly activity or research.
• Effective written and verbal communication; collaborative work with diverse staff and students.
• Commitment to face-to-face instruction in Minnesota and willingness to relocate.

Responsibilities

• Teach Accounting Information Systems and Financial or Managerial Accounting to a post-traditional student population.
• Develop curriculum in AIS and accounting to enhance learning outcomes.
• Teach in BS/BA, MS/MA, and MBA/DBA programs, in-person and online as needed.
• Contribute to assessment of student learning at program, college, and institutional levels.
• Engage in scholarly activity, research, or creative achievement.
• Demonstrate ongoing professional development and study.
• Advise students and provide career guidance to promote growth.
• Participate in department, college, university, and community service.
• Support equitable outcomes and student-centered education for a diverse body.
