Metropolitan State University is hiring an Assistant Professor of Accounting to teach Accounting Information Systems and Financial/Managerial Accounting. The role includes curriculum development and teaching across BS/BA, MS/MA, MBA or DBA programs, with in-person, online, or hybrid delivery.

The candidate should engage in scholarship, advise students, and contribute to a diverse, student-centered educational environment. Start date January 4, 2027; Minnesota location in St. Paul.

Qualifications

• Terminal degree or near completion by Aug 2027 in accounting or related field (.MIS or Finance).
• Ability to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels in accounting information systems and financial/managerial accounting.
• Experience designing curriculum and teaching diverse student populations.

Responsibilities

• Teach Accounting Information Systems, Financial or Managerial Accounting effectively to post-traditional students.
• Contribute to curriculum development in accounting information systems and accounting.
• Teach in BS/BA, MS/MA, MBA or DBA programs, in-person and online/hybrid formats.
• Engage in assessment of student learning and scholarly activity or research.
• Advise students and support their academic and career development.
• Provide service to department, college, university, and community.
• Demonstrate commitment to diversity and equitable outcomes for all students.
