Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of insurance statutory accounting and US GAAP.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to convey complex concepts clearly.
• Experience with cross-functional collaboration and policy implementation.

Responsibilities

• Monitors, researches, and evaluates impact of new or changing accounting guidance (FASB/NAIC).
• Assists management in implementing policy changes to comply with updated guidance.
• Maintains accounting policy database and documents Company positions on technical issues.
• Analyzes and documents policy applications to significant or unusual transactions.
• Prepares notes to financial statements disclosing accounting policies.
• Drafts and reviews financial statements and notes for proper application and disclosure.
• Educates management across functions on policy selection and application.
• Implements controls over maintenance and reporting of accounting policies.
• Interacts with internal and external audit teams regarding accounting policies.
• Represents the Company in relevant industry groups and supports department goals.
