Position Overview:

Steward Partners is seeking an experienced Accounting Operations Manager to lead the accounting operations supporting the firm's Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) business and continued growth through acquisitions. This role will oversee the accounting processes for advisory operations, custodian activity, and acquisition integrations while driving operational excellence, internal controls, and scalable processes across the Accounting organization.

This position partners closely with the Controller, Assistant Controller, FP&A, Operations, Onboarding, Legal, Treasury, and business leaders to ensure accounting infrastructure supports rapid growth while maintaining financial integrity and strong governance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead the accounting and reporting for advisory fee revenue across multiple custodial platforms
• Review advisory billing files, reconcile revenue to cash, and ensure complete and accurate monthly recognition
• Analyze advisory revenue trends and operational metrics
• Support new advisory programs, products, and platform implementations
• Maintain accounting policies for advisory operations
• Review custodian revenue-sharing, platform fees, and billing activity
• Lead reconciliations and resolve operational discrepancies with internal and external partners
• Develop standardized, scalable accounting procedures supporting continued platform growth
• Drive process improvements, automation, and standardization
• Strengthen internal controls, documentation, and business continuity
• Develop KPIs and operational reporting to improve visibility and efficiency
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close while improving close timelines
• Supervise, coach, and develop accounting staff
• Review reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting schedules
• Assist with workload planning, prioritization, and cross-training
• Promote accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement

Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

• Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• CPA preferred
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Management experience within an RIA, wealth management firm, broker-dealer, custodian, or other financial service organization
• Strong understanding of advisory fee accounting, revenue recognition, reconciliations and operating accounting
• Experience supporting acquisitions, business integrations, or high-growth organizations
• Strong leadership, analytical, communication, and project management skills
• Experience with Sage Intacct, Pershing, Schwab, Fidelity, Goldman Sachs, Envestnet or similar platforms preferred
