Job summary

Sunward is seeking a Supervisor, Accounting Operations to lead a team responsible for accurate, timely, and compliant accounting operations supporting the credit union’s financial integrity and member service outcomes.

The role manages daily workflows across check processing, remote deposit, ACH, wire balancing, payroll, ATM/teller balancing, vendor payments, and tax withholding, ensuring strong controls and continuous process improvement.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of progressively responsible experience in accounting operations or a related financial institution environment.
• Experience leading or coordinating others, coaching, training, and overseeing workflow.
• Knowledge of accounting controls, reconciliations, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day operations of the Accounting Operations team, including workflow distribution and performance management.
• Oversee processing and reconciliation activities (checks, ACH, wires, card settlement, payroll, balancing).
• Support vendor payments and expense management with attention to approvals and policy compliance.
• Ensure compliance with IRS withholding, Federal Reserve regulations, audits, and internal controls.
