Job summary

Third Wave Business Systems, a Pine Services Group company, seeks an Accounting Manager for its South Bend unit to own day-to-day accounting and the month-end close. You will partner with AP/AR, manage invoicing, and serve as a key Acumatica user.

You will drive process improvements, support the annual audit, and ensure GAAP compliance while aligning with East Coast hours in a largely remote context.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Owned a full month-end close and produced financial statements.
• Hands-on with AP, AR, cash management, and bank reconciliations.
• Experience supporting an external audit.
• Working knowledge of GAAP and sales tax.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Comfortable working East Coast hours.
• Detail-oriented and proactive about improving processes.

Responsibilities

• Own the month-end close for the South Bend unit, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations and financial statements.
• Oversee day-to-day accounting with AP/AR, keeping payables, receivables, and cash current.
• Manage invoicing and ensure alignment of purchase orders and sales orders.
• Track margin across software resale and services for leadership visibility.
• Ensure timely payment of recurring invoices; support sales tax compliance.
• Maintain bank and balance sheet reconciliations; support annual audit.
• Lead as a user of Acumatica, designing workflows and reports with consultants.
• Identify and implement process improvements as the business scales.

Third Wave Business Systems, a portfolio company of Pine, is currently seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join our growing team.

Third Wave Business Systems is an ERP and technology services firm that helps mid-market manufacturing and distribution businesses select, implement, and support the systems they run on, including Acumatica, SAP Business One, and SYSPRO. Its consultants, sales, and support teams partner with clients for the long term.

Who We Need

Third Wave is growing and is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead day-to-day accounting and the month-end close for its South Bend business unit. This person will own the books from day one, partner closely with AP and AR, and serve as a key user of the company's Acumatica ERP. The role reports to the VP of Finance and works alongside a peer Accounting Manager who leads a second business unit. It is a strong fit for a hands‑on accountant who has run a close before, enjoys building clean processes, and wants to grow with a business.

What You’ll Do

• Own the month-end close for the South Bend business unit, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial statements
• Oversee day-to-day accounting with the AP and AR team, keeping payables, receivables, and cash current and accurate
• Manage software and services invoicing, ensuring billing runs on schedule and purchase orders and sales orders match
• Track margin across software resale and services so leadership has clear visibility
• Ensure timely payment of recurring publisher and vendor invoices
• Maintain bank and balance sheet reconciliations and support sales tax compliance
• Support the annual audit in partnership with the Pine accounting team
• Serve as a lead user of Acumatica, helping design workflows and reports alongside internal Acumatica consultants
• Identify and implement process improvements as the business scales

What We’re Looking For

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Has owned a full month-end close, including producing financial statements
• Hands‑on experience with AP, AR, cash management, and bank reconciliations
• Experience supporting an external audit
• Working knowledge of GAAP and sales tax
• Advanced Excel skills
• Comfortable working East Coast hours
• Detail-oriented, organized, and proactive about improving processes

Nice‑to‑Have

• Experience in a software reseller, VAR, or professional services environment
• Acumatica or other mid‑market ERP experience
• Experience in a private equity‑backed or multi‑entity business
• CPA or progress toward CPA

$100,000 - $120,000 a year

Compensation: $100,000 to $110,000 base, plus an annual bonus tied to company performance
