Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC seeks a Senior Accountant to help build accounting processes and systems supporting FTR initiatives in Portland. You’ll work with Finance, Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Product, Tax, and Technology teams to craft scalable solutions for new products and business models.

You will research and apply U.S. GAAP, support ERP and finance transformations, and strengthen controls while identifying automation opportunities across the accounting function.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
• CPA (preferred).
• Knowledge of COSO internal control framework to assess design and efficiency.
• Knowledge of GAAP research tools and the FASB codification.
• Experience in accounting management in Big Four with Fortune 500 clients.
• Experience researching and documenting support for accounting conclusions.

Responsibilities

• Own accounting for manufacturing and emerging FTR business initiatives, including inventory, fixed assets, capitalization, and other complex transactions.
• Partner with Finance, Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Product, Tax, and Technology teams to develop accounting solutions as new products and business models are launched.
• Research technical accounting questions and translate U.S. GAAP requirements into practical, scalable business processes.
• Support ERP implementations and finance transformation initiatives, including requirements, testing, controls, and deployment.
• Identify opportunities to automate and simplify accounting processes, improve reporting, and strengthen financial controls.
• Support month-end and quarter-end reporting while helping the organization identify and resolve accounting risks as the business grows.
