Job summary

Dexter, based in Elkhart, Indiana, is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead core accounting activities and drive continuous improvements across processes, systems, and controls. The role collaborates with Accounting, Finance, Operations, and IT to implement sustainable solutions.

The ideal candidate combines strong accounting expertise with a process-improvement mindset, capable of both strategic planning and hands-on execution to improve accuracy, efficiency, and scalability of the accounting

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, including leadership of employees or major projects.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, financial close, reconciliations, internal controls, and reporting.
• Experience with ERP systems and accounting-related technology.
• Ability to use data to identify root causes and drive improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead general accounting activities including general ledger, reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close, and financial reporting.
• Drive continuous improvement across accounting processes, systems, and controls.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and development to accounting team members.
• Partner with leadership to prioritize work and improvement initiatives by impact, risk, and resources.
• Identify opportunities to simplify workflows, reduce manual effort, and shorten close timelines.
• Standardize processes, policies, and procedures with clear ownership.
