Mecklenburg County Park & Recreation Department is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead a five-person team and manage a $90M operating and $200M+ capital budget. You will partner with division leaders to ensure fiscal health, compliance, and accurate reporting of AP, procurement, and revenue.

The role requires six years in accounting/finance with supervisory experience, a bachelor's degree in a related field, and strong Excel skills. North Carolina location with county-wide impact.

Qualifications

• Six years in Accounting or Finance including one year in a supervisory role.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
• Driver’s license may be required per NC/SC rules.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting Software.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of five accounting professionals and oversee a $90M operating and $250M+ capital budget.
• Manage accounts payable, procurement, and revenue portfolios totaling $17.5M+ annually.
• Oversee general ledger, banking reconciliations, and period-end closings.
• Collaborate with the Business Operations Director to execute annual budget process.
