Job summary

Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation is seeking a Park and Recreation Manager to oversee budgeting, programming, and daily operations across multiple recreation facilities in the North Region. The role involves strategic planning for growth, developing policies, and coordinating with community groups and partners.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree, at least six years in recreation management with supervisory experience, and a valid North Carolina or South Carolina driver’s

Qualifications

• Six (6) years of experience in the area of assignment, with at least 1 year of supervisory experience or completion of an approved supervisory program.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is required.
• Valid North Carolina or South Carolina driver’s license and county driving privileges; First Aid/CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Manage a park region, recreation or nature centers and facilities including staff, budgeting, revenue attainment, HR and contract management.
• Develop annual budgets and monitor expenses and revenues.
• Oversee maintenance plans to ensure clean, safe, attractive parks or facilities.
