Job summary

Northwest Ambulance is seeking an Accounting Manager to own the general ledger, design the close and reconciliation framework, and drive the cash-to-accrual conversion. You will implement policies, controls, and reporting with no current accounting staff, reporting to the Controller and coordinating with external partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a closely related field.
• Five+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience.
• Ability to independently determine accounting treatment and defend it under review.
• Knowledge of cash-basis and accrual accounting; cash-to-accrual conversion.

Responsibilities

• Define accounting policy under US GAAP and document reasoning.
• Plan and execute cash-to-accrual conversion and establish opening accrual balances.
• Design the close calendar and balance sheet reconciliation framework.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and explain variances to leadership.
• Reconcile accounts payable and manage vendor master; oversee 1099 determinations.
• Lead implementations of accounting systems and automation tools.
