Job summary

Northwest Ambulance is bringing its accounting in house. As Accounting Manager you will own the general ledger, decide how transactions are recorded, and design the close and reconciliation framework during the cash-to-accrual conversion.

You will lead monthly financial reporting, reconcile with the outsourced billing provider, maintain vendor and 1099 records, and act as backup for payroll processing while building scalable controls for future growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or closely related field.
• Five or more years of progressively responsible accounting experience.
• Ability to independently determine accounting treatment and defend it under review.
• Working knowledge of cash-basis and accrual accounting; familiarity with cash-to-accrual conversion.
• Solid US GAAP fundamentals—revenue recognition, accruals, and deferrals.
• Ability to reconcile balance sheet accounts and trace a variance to its source.

Responsibilities

• Determine accounting treatment under US GAAP and document policies.
• Plan and execute cash-to-accrual conversion and open accrual balances.
• Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements; explain variances.
• Review accounts payable and authorize disbursements within delegated limits.
• Reconcile outsourced billing provider to the general ledger and resolve diffs.
• Maintain vendor master and 1099 determinations.
• Lead or support system implementations and automation tools.
• Serve as payroll backup and document processes for month closes.
