Job summary

Jobot is seeking an Accounting Manager with NetSuite expertise in Houston, TX. The ideal candidate will own the full-cycle accounting process in a growing RNG-focused company, ensuring GAAP compliance, accurate monthly closes, and insightful reporting.

Qualifications

Job Details

The ideal candidate has strong full-cycle accounting experience, a solid understanding of GAAP, and experience managing the month-end close process. Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full-cycle accounting process, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, cash management, and account reconciliations
• Own the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
• Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and adjusting entries
• Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and management reporting
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely
• Perform bank, credit card, balance sheet, and other account reconciliations
• Oversee AP and AR processes, including vendor payments, invoicing, and collections
• Monitor cash activity and assist with cash flow reporting and forecasting
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, company accounting policies, and internal controls
• Support annual audits, tax filings, and other external reporting requirements
• Partner with operations, finance, and leadership teams to resolve accounting issues and improve financial processes
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting procedures, controls, and reporting
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and other FP&A initiatives as needed
• Support accounting for projects, assets, and other transactions related to the company’s renewable energy operations
• Assist with ad hoc financial projects and initiatives as the company continues to grow

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong full-cycle accounting experience, including ownership of the month-end close
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
• Experience with journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and financial statement preparation
• Experience with accounting software/ERP systems
• Strong Excel skills and ability to work with financial data
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of accounting processes in a growing organization

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous Accounting Manager or Senior Accountant experience
• Experience in renewable energy, energy, utilities, infrastructure, manufacturing, construction, or another asset-intensive industry
• CPA or CPA-track experience
• Experience with project accounting, fixed assets, or capital expenditures
• Experience improving accounting processes and internal controls
• Experience managing or mentoring accounting staff
• Experience with ERP implementations or accounting system upgrades
