Job summary

Versant Media in Englewood Cliffs, NJ, is hiring a Manager, Accounting for News, Entertainment and Sports. This full-time role supports the monthly close for the TV Networks organization with a focus on US GAAP and internal controls.

The role partners with Finance and Technical Accounting, ensures SOX compliance, and drives process improvements while mentoring junior staff in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
• 4+ years accounting/finance experience, preferably in entertainment.
• Knowledge of GAAP and financial accounting standards.

Responsibilities

• Support monthly and quarterly close process for the TV Networks organization.
• Prepare and review journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assist in preparation/analysis of internal financial statements and reporting packages.
• Partner with Finance and Technical Accounting on complex transactions.
• Ensure SOX compliance and assist audits with schedules.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and control enhancements.
• Supervise and mentor junior staff and collaborate with IT on reporting systems.
• Coordinate with multiple business units (FP&A, Controllership, Legal).
