Job summary

Versant is seeking a Senior Director, Accounting – TV Networks to lead the controllership and financial reporting for the Sports and Entertainment Networks portfolio. This executive will manage the TV Networks controllership team and collaborate with shared services accounting operations to ensure compliance with U.S.

GAAP and SOX, delivering timely close and robust external reporting. The role requires CPA, 12+ years in accounting/controllership, and strong leadership with experience in media

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA required.
• Public accounting experience and/or publicly traded company experience preferred.
• 12+ years of progressive accounting and controllership experience.
• Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC/public company reporting, internal controls, and SOX compliance.
• Experience leading month-end close, financial reporting, balance sheet governance, reconciliations, and accounting operations.
• Experience in media/entertainment, digital, advertising, networks, streaming, or related sectors.
• Experience leading process transformation, automation, centralization, or operating model redesign.
• Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams; strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead controllership for Sports and Entertainment Networks, including various revenue streams and expenses.
• Oversee month-end, quarterly, and annual close with accurate financial reporting.
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and estimates for accuracy.
• Partner with Finance, Legal, Tech, and External auditors to support initiatives.
• Drive ERP transformation, standardization, and improved reporting quality.
• Develop and mentor a high-performing controllership team.
