Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years progressive accounting experience in manufacturing/inventory environment.
• Experience supervising accounting staff preferred.
• CPA or CMA preferred but not required.
• Strong GAAP, month-end close, financial reporting, and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close with GAAP-compliant reporting.
• Oversee general ledger activity, reconciliations, journal entries and accruals.
• Oversee inventory accounting, standard costing, COGS, variances, valuation.
• Develop and enforce accounting policies and internal controls.
• Analyze results, explain variances, provide insights to leadership.
• Coordinate external audits, support tax/compliance requirements.
• Lead and develop accounting staff, promote accuracy and accountability.
• Collaborate with operations and finance to improve visibility and decisions.
• Support private equity reporting, budgeting, forecasting, KPIs.
• Optimize systems, reporting tools, and processes for growth.

Job Details

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting & Month-End Close: Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• General Ledger Management: Oversee general ledger activity, account reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet analysis.
• Cost Accounting & Inventory: Oversee inventory accounting, standard costing, cost of goods sold (COGS), manufacturing variances, and inventory valuation.
• Internal Controls & Process Improvement: Develop and implement accounting policies, strengthen internal controls, and identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes.
• Financial Analysis: Analyze financial results, investigate variances, and provide meaningful insights to management regarding operating performance.
• Audit & Compliance: Coordinate external audits, support tax and compliance requirements, and ensure adherence to applicable accounting standards.
• Team Leadership: Supervise and develop accounting staff while promoting accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with operations, supply chain, production, and finance teams to improve financial visibility and support business decisions.
• Private Equity Reporting: Support financial reporting packages, key performance indicators (KPIs), budgeting, forecasting, and other reporting requirements for executive leadership and private equity stakeholders.
• Systems & Scalability: Help optimize accounting systems, reporting tools, and procedures to support continued business growth, operational efficiency, and potential acquisitions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience in a manufacturing or inventory-intensive environment.
• Prior experience managing or supervising accounting staff preferred.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, month-end close, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Experience with inventory accounting, cost accounting, COGS, and manufacturing variances.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Experience in a private equity-backed, high-growth, or multi-entity organization is highly desirable.
• CPA or CMA preferred but not required.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to balance hands-on accounting responsibilities with process improvement and team leadership.
