Job summary

O&G Industries, Inc., a diversified construction and materials company based in Torrington, CT, seeks an experienced Accounting Manager to lead its accounting team. You will oversee daily operations, ensure timely financial reporting, and collaborate with leadership to drive improvements.

You will coach staff, manage month- and year-end closes, and coordinate with external auditors while implementing process improvements and ERP enhancements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory/management roles.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day accounting department activities and set priorities for the team.
• Supervise, coach, develop, and hold staff accountable for accuracy and deadlines.
• Oversee month-end and year-end close processes and financial statement prep.
• Maintain the general ledger with journal entries, reconciliations, and documentation.
• Review financial results, identify discrepancies and trends, and flag issues to management.
• Oversee accounting for multiple subsidiaries and internal controls.
