Job summary

O&G Industries, Inc., a diversified construction and materials company based in Torrington, Connecticut, is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to help lead our accounting team and ensure accurate financial reporting.

You will oversee day-to-day operations, coach staff, guide month-end close, and collaborate with leadership to drive process improvements and strong internal controls across subsidiaries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience with supervisory or management roles.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.
• Experience with general ledger, financial statements, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office/Excel; ERP experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day activities of the accounting department and set priorities.
• Supervise, coach, develop, and hold staff accountable for accuracy and deadlines.
• Oversee month-end and year-end close and financial statement preparation.
• Maintain the general ledger, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Analyze financial results, identify discrepancies and trends, and report to management.
• Coordinate with external auditors and support system improvements.
• Work with operations and leadership to understand financial results and support decisions.
• Oversee accounting for multiple subsidiaries.
• Develop and maintain internal controls and procedures.
• Manage multiple priorities with accuracy and urgency.
