Job Description Summary

This role is for a specialist in technical, statutory insurance accounting at ERAC, Employers Reassurance Corporation, a corporate holding of GE Aerospace. We support long-term care insurance, structured settlements, life insurance, and other insurance products.

Responsible for driving technical accounting compliance, financial and operational internal controls, process simplification, and operational excellence to deliver accurate financial reporting and analysis. Interprets simple internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices. Stays informed of industry trends. The role is remote (anywhere in the US) or based in Overland Park, KS.

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Provide guidance on statutory accounting, filings, and regulatory requirements. Assist in timely and compliant statutory filings.
2. Develop expertise and reputation within the organization, influencing policy and linking with other functions.
3. Lead or support projects with moderate complexity, such as NAIC principles-based bond definitions and group capital calculations.
4. Communicate complex messages internally, influence peers, and negotiate with external partners.
5. Lead creative solutions to complex problems, evaluate information quality, and utilize internal and external resources for decision-making.

Required Qualifications

1. Master's degree from an accredited university or college.
2. Strong knowledge of statutory and insurance regulatory requirements.
3. Experience in technical controllership and insurance industry, especially Life & Health insurance products.
4. Experience preparing statutory financial statements and working with auditors.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range is $124,500 to $180,000 USD annually, influenced by experience, education, and skills. The position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus or commission plan.
