Job summary

Harmonic Finance Inc, a rapid-growth Physical AI start-up backed by leading VC investors, seeks an Accounting Manager in San Francisco to own the monthly close and help scale our finance function during high growth. You will partner across Finance, Operations and R&D to implement robust controls, processes and reporting for multi-entity manufacturing operations.

The role reports to the Assistant Controller and offers ownership of end-to-end accounting responsibilities, including lease accounting

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting experience in VC-backed scale-up, high-growth startup, or multi-entity environment.
• Hands-on experience with AP, balance sheet reconciliations, and fixed assets.
• Comfortable working across multiple entities, including international subsidiaries.
• Working knowledge of lease accounting under ASC 842 (or IFRS 16).
• Sharp attention to detail with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
• Enthusiastic about building and improving processes in a fast-moving business.

Responsibilities

• Own the full month-end close cycle including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Drive improvements to close timeliness with scalable processes as the business grows.
• Maintain and improve fixed asset roll-forwards and reconciliations.
• Collaborate with leadership on audit preparation and financial controls for manufacturing operations.
• Ensure data integrity across all financial records.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance and Operations to improve reporting.
• Manage lease accounting under ASC 842 including ROU assets and lease liabilities.
• Maintain and improve processes for AP, AR, and expense reporting.
• Support intercompany transactions and international group consolidations.
• Contribute to cash flow forecasting and regular balance sheet reconciliations.
