Job summary

The Revenue Authority of Prince George’s County is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead complex accounting activities and a team of accountants. The role reports to the CFO and requires strong leadership, analytical skills, and a solid foundation in accounting principles.

The position supports a quasi-governmental agency that manages real estate development programs in partnership with county agencies. The role emphasizes close attention to financial controls, audits, and regulatory compliance

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in accounting, finance, or business administration.
• Minimum 3 years in accounting supervision or management.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Experience with accounting software, MIP preferred.
• Internal audit/compliance experience.
• Proficient in Excel and MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Oversee posting and verification of financial data for records.
• Manage monthly close process, journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Perform reconciliations of general ledger accounts and approve ledger entries.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly accounting reports and audits.
• Supervise staff and provide guidance on accounts payable/receivable, journal entries, and revenue accounting.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
