Job summary

Purple Wave Auction is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead a four-person team in a high‑volume transaction environment. The role reports to the Controller and blends hands‑on accounting with team leadership to ensure accurate financial reporting for an auction‑driven business.

You will oversee daily processing, implement process improvements, and partner across Sales, Customer Service, Product, and Technology to support our growth.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of progressive accounting experience including supervisory/leadership roles.
• Strong month-end/quarter-end close and financial statement prep experience.
• Excellent Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling).
• Experience with revenue recognition ASC 606 and general ledger management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily transaction processing for high‑volume auction activities.
• Direct accounts payable/receivable including procurement, seller settlements, and buyer collections.
• Ensure timely and accurate revenue and related transaction recording.
• Lead monthly/quarterly/year-end close; prepare financial statements and variance analyses.
• Collaborate with Controller and cross-functional teams to improve processes and controls.
• Identify improvements; lead system enhancements and accounting policy documentation.
