Job summary

UWorld is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead our Finance & Accounting team, overseeing general accounting, tax, and reporting functions. This hands-on leadership role requires deep technical accounting expertise, strong judgment, and the ability to partner with the CFO and business leaders across UWorld.

The ideal candidate will drive process improvements, mentor the accounting team, and ensure accurate financial statements and regulatory compliance in a dynamic growth environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Active CPA license required.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including roles like Staff/Senior Accountant or Accounting Manager.
• 5+ years of people management experience.
• Extensive experience with corporate income tax, multi-state payroll tax, and sales tax.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience overseeing month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Experience managing external audits and working with accounting/tax advisors.
• Big Four public accounting experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day general accounting activities and ensure GL integrity.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal policies.
• Oversee tax compliance activities and audits.
• Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors.
• Develop and maintain efficient financial reporting processes.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen internal controls and reporting.
