Job summary

Healthier Mississippi People LLC is seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee accounts payable, financial statement preparation, journal entries, and reconciliations in a GAAP environment. This role provides critical backup support to the Director of Accounting and ensures timely and accurate financial reporting.

The position requires strong knowledge of GAAP, experience with general ledger processes, and proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• Working knowledge of GAAP and ability to analyze accounting issues beyond routine processing.
• Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel.
• Experience in general ledger accounting, accounts payable, financial statement preparation, and account reconciliations.

Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices and archive invoices in AP files.
• Prepare and record journal entries with proper documentation.
• Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies.
• Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules for review by Director of Accounting.
• Apply GAAP to transactions and maintain lease accounting schedules.
• Assist with audit requests and external audits.
• Serve as backup coverage for the Director of Accounting.
