ProspectBlue is hiring an Accounting Manager for a well-established company in Petersburg, VA. The role oversees accounting operations and financial reporting, partnering with leadership on budgeting and forecasting.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in accounting, experience with consolidation and international accounting, and strong GAAP knowledge. You will lead a small team, manage relationships with auditors and banks, and drive internal controls.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting experience with controller or assistant controller exposure preferred.
• Consolidation and international experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• High attention to detail with ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable reporting standards.
• Develop and monitor internal controls.
• Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and financial strategy.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff.
• Manage relationships with external auditors, tax preparers, and financial institutions.
• Analyze departmental profitability and provide actionable insights to management.
