Job summary

St. Norbert College seeks an Accounting Manager to lead the Accounting Services department, ensuring accurate month-end, year-end closings, and financial reporting.

You will collaborate with external auditors and manage fixed assets, endowments, and capital projects, while guiding staff development. The role requires a CPA (preferred), 10+ years of accounting, and 5+ years of supervisory experience, with strong US GAAP knowledge and experience in a higher education finance environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and CPA preferred.
• Minimum 5+ years supervisory experience and 10+ years accounting experience.
• Strong US GAAP knowledge and audit coordination experience.
• Experience with Workday and Banner preferred; proficiency in MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Accounting Services staff, including recruitment and performance management.
• Manage month-end and year-end closings and supporting documentation.
• Coordinate with external auditors for audits and tax returns.
• Ensure accurate accounting for fixed assets and capital projects.
• Oversee endowments and investments accounting and reporting.
• Support budgeting and forecasting with financial analysis and reports.
• Provide guidance on internal controls and process improvements.
• Participate in college committees and special projects.
