Job summary

KerberRose in Wisconsin is seeking an Accounting Manager / Controller to lead day-to-day accounting operations and strengthen the financial foundation for growth. This role blends strategic leadership with hands-on accounting, offering visibility with executive leadership and opportunities to drive process improvements, automation, and stronger internal controls.

You will drive monthly close, oversee A/P, A/R, payroll, taxes, and reporting, and lead a team to deliver accurate, timely statements

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience with financial reporting, reconciliations, close processes, and general accounting operations.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience supervising staff or leading accounting processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly financial close and reporting processes.

A client of mine, a growing and highly respected organization in Northern Wisconsin, is seeking an Accounting Manager / Controller to lead day-to-day accounting operations and help build the financial foundation for continued growth.

What You'll Do

As the Accounting Manager / Controller, you’ll oversee the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of the accounting function while partnering closely with senior leadership.

Key areas of responsibility include:

• Lead monthly financial close and reporting processes
• Oversee Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, payroll, and cash management
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Manage sales tax, fuel tax, payroll tax, and regulatory filings

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Experience with financial reporting, reconciliations, close processes, and general accounting operations
• Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills
• Ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Experience supervising staff or leading accounting processes

Preferred Experience

• Controller, Accounting Manager, Senior Accountant, or Assistant Controller background
• Distribution, logistics, transportation, manufacturing, energy, or other operational industries
• Process improvement and continuous improvement initiatives
• EOS environment experience is a plus
