Job summary

Cohere is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead our Phoenix-based corporate accounting team. You will oversee AR/AP, strengthen systems, and support a growing portfolio of communities with a hands-on leadership style.

The role emphasizes developing people, balancing accuracy with service, and partnering with leadership to maintain strong financial stewardship across Cohere’s communities.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of management or general accounting experience, including AR responsibility in HOA/community settings.
• 3–5 years of leading accounting teams across multiple locations.
• 2+ years in HOA, property management, or community accounting.”
• Strong knowledge of AR, billing, collections, financial reporting, and controls.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Accounting Team with coaching and support across functions and locations.
• Oversee AR activities with AP support, ensuring accuracy and timely service.
• Monitor delinquency cycles and ensure compliance with governing documents and collection procedures.
• Prepare and review financial and operational reporting; track key metrics and identify improvements.
• Collaborate with senior leadership on general ledger maintenance, internal controls, and audits.
• Implement and improve accounting workflows and systems; train team on software tools.
