Job summary

City of St. Louis seeks an Accounting Manager (Buildings) to oversee the Building Division accounting functions, including Financial Reporting, AR/AP, Grants management and Payroll.

The role requires supervising professional accountants and staff, and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures. Essential duties include managing transactions, developing procedures to protect assets, budgeting for operations, and coordinating procurement in Oracle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required or equivalent.
• Five years of accounting/auditing experience or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting operations for the Building Division including AR, AP, billing and grants.
• Develop, implement and verify procedures to protect city assets and interests.
• Plan and justify the operational budget to meet efficiency and cost-saving goals.
• Supervise professional accountants and support staff, provide performance feedback.
• Process contracts, purchase orders, payments, and inventory control in Oracle.
