Job summary

MNP Corporation, a long-standing manufacturing firm, seeks an Accounting Manager to oversee day-to-day accounting operations, ensure financial data accuracy, and partner on budgeting, forecasting, and long-range strategy. This role reports to the CFO and works across multiple companies.

The ideal candidate has extensive GAAP knowledge, cost accounting, and experience with ERP systems, plus strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• 5 years of increasing financial responsibility including manufacturing experience
• GAAP, financial analysis, cost accounting, forecasting & budgeting experience
• Multi-company consolidation experience
• Knowledge and experience with automotive OEMs and Tier II customers
• Experience with ERP systems

Responsibilities

• Work with leadership to develop and provide accurate analysis of financial data and reports
• Ensure monthly financial statement closings for the Consolidated Group are complete and timely
• Provide financial data based on established practices
• Support Tax department on filing tax returns (sales/use tax, personal property tax, income/state taxes)
• Provide expertise in billing, general ledger software, and accounting systems
• Analyze financial information to evaluate performance and identify cost reductions or improvements
• Coordinate activities of departments concerned with production, pricing, sales or inventory
• Review information submitted by staff to ensure accurate reporting
• Coordinate timely completion of external audit and reconciliation requirements
• Build relationships with all departments and support personnel
• Collaborate across companies to support strategic manufacturing goals

PURPOSE

The Accounting Manager oversees day-to-day accounting operations, ensures financial data accuracy, and serves as a trusted partner in budgeting, forecasting, and long-range strategy. This role reports to the CFO.

TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS

5 years of increasing financial responsibility including:

• 3 years of experience in a manufacturing organization
• Experience with GAAP, financial analysis, cost accounting, forecasting & budgeting
• Experience working with cross-functional and multi-company teams
• Multi-company consolidation experience
• Knowledge and experience with automotive OEMs and Tier II customers
• Experience with ERP systems

RESPONSIBILITIES

Utilizing generally accepted accounting practices, responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Work with leadership and affiliated personnel to develop and provide accurate analysis of financial data and financial reports.
• Assure the complete, timely and accurate monthly financial statement closings for the Consolidated Group.
• Provide financial data and input based on established practices.
• Support the Tax department on filing tax returns, especially in the areas of sales and use tax, personal property taxes and income and state taxes.
• Provide expertise in billing, general ledger software, and overall general knowledge of accounting systems, databases and master files.
• Analyze financial information to assist in the evaluation of performance of the company in meeting objectives; recommend areas of potential cost reduction, program improvement, or policy change.
• Direct or coordinate activities of businesses or departments concerned with production, pricing, sales, or inventory.
• Review information submitted by staff members or other entities to ensure accurate reporting and/or recommend changes.
• Communicate with people outside the organization, representing the organization to customers, the public, government, and other external sources.
• Coordinate and support the timely completion of the financial external audit, including completion of auditors schedule requirements and account reconciliation requirements associated with the audit.
• Establish excellent working relationships with all departments and support personnel
• Work together with the various companies to support overall strategic manufacturing goals
