Job summary

MNP Corporation seeks a Plant Accountant to perform daily accounting and reporting for manufacturing plants. The role reports to the Manufacturing Controller and supports cost analysis, inventory oversight, and month-end close across the portfolio.

Ideal candidates will have 3+ years in manufacturing, solid GAAP knowledge, cost accounting, budgeting experience, and proficiency with ERP systems. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to drive accuracy and integrity.

Responsibilities

• Prepare reports daily, weekly and monthly which may include but not be limited to production cost, inventory, spending, and other metrics.
• Analyze production cost, inventory and labor variances throughout the month.
• Conduct month-end closing by calculating accruals, booking journal entries, reclasses and other adjustments.
• Review inventory balances and inventory monitoring programs.
• Assist with the preparation of monthly forecasts and the annual budget.

PURPOSE: The Plant Accountant performs daily accounting and reporting functions for manufacturing plants across MNP’s portfolio of companies. This position reports to the Manufacturing Controller.

TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS: 3 years of increasing financial responsibility including:

• 3 years of experience in a manufacturing organization
• Experience with GAAP, financial analysis, cost accounting, forecasting & budgeting
• Experience working with cross-functional teams
• Knowledge and experience with automotive OEMs and Tier II customers
• Experience with ERP systems

SOFT SKILLS:

• Excellent communication skills including oral and written; strong listening skills
• Excellent computer skills especially with Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Ability to relate to all types of people
