Ognomy is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to lead our financial operations. At Ognomy, we’re reimagining sleep medicine with a virtual-first platform that connects patients to board-certified sleep physicians, home testing, and treatment—without the need for an in-person visit. Our innovative approach helps patients get diagnosed faster, start treatment sooner, and ultimately improve their lives.

Reporting:

Direct line to Ognomy's COO, while receiving direction from the company's fractional CFO

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage monthly financial close, including revenue recognition, A/R, and consolidated reporting across multiple entities
• Work with accounting staff to ensure accuracy and timeliness of all accounting activity
• Prepare and maintain key balance sheet schedules (e.g., prepaid, accrued expenses) to support audits and financial diligence
• Reconcile inter-company transactions and ensure timely EOQ/EOY reporting
• Oversee GAAP financials and coordinate with external tax and audit partners, including support for R&D credits and 1099 filings
• Manage payroll, time reporting, benefits, and ensure smooth Open Enrollment and state registrations
• Oversee accounting tools like the payroll and benefits systems, Bill.com, and Quickbooks
• Facilitate insurance renewals and applications in coordination with the COO/CFO
• Supervise A/R and A/P functions; own 13-week cash flow forecasts and bi-monthly check run proposals
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase accuracy and accelerate financial close
• Support system upgrades, automation initiatives, and special finance projects as needed

Skills Required:

• 10+ years of professional accounting experience, with strong GAAP knowledge
• Proven leadership in financial reporting, payroll, and cash flow management
• Strong understanding of banking processes and financial data analysis
• Working knowledge of national and local tax regulations and compliance reporting
• Exemplary history of financial project management
• Skilled in streamlining and automating accounting operations
• Proficiency with Excel (including arrays, macros, formulas, and modeling)
• Experience with financial software and accounting systems
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to prioritize independently and thrive in a fast-paced, remote environment
• Experience in a healthcare-oriented organization is a plus
