Job description

About Us We are a growing network of companies specializing in workforce staffing and technical training solutions. With multiple entities under our umbrella, we are seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager to lead core accounting functions and help drive data-informed decisions through accurate financial reporting. This role reports directly to the VP of Finance and offers high visibility within a collaborative, fast-paced environment. This is a full-time, remote position with a direct impact on the financial performance of a growing, multi-entity business. Key Responsibilities

· Manage daily accounting operations, including Accounts Payable (A/P), Accounts Receivable (A/R), payroll processing, sales entries, and daily cash transactions.

· Maintain and oversee the General Ledger (G/L) across multiple business entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

· Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.

· Own and execute the month-end and year-end close process, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.

· Prepare and deliver detailed financial reports to support internal decision-making and strategic planning.

· Clean up and maintain the chart of accounts to ensure consistency and efficiency.

· Transition and maintain accounting systems in QuickBooks Desktop Pro Plus and QuickBooks Online (expertise required).

· Provide reporting and analysis to support budgeting, forecasting, and acquisition activity.

· Assist with internal controls, tax preparation support, and external audits.

· Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, ensuring accurate task execution and professional growth.

· Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure operational alignment with financial systems and procedures.

Skills & Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred).

· 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory or managerial role.

· Advanced experience including report writing with QuickBooks (Desktop and Online); able to manage multiple company files efficiently.

· Proven experience in general ledger management, reconciliations, and daily cash oversight.

· Strong financial reporting and report writing skills; ability to create and interpret detailed reports.

· Deep understanding of GAAP and regulatory compliance.

· Highly organized with strong attention to detail and deadlines.

· Proficient in Microsoft Excel; ability to analyze data and build financial models is a plus.

· Excellent communication and collaboration skills; comfortable working cross-functionally.
