Job summary

SHR Talent is partnering with a Nashville-based organization to recruit a Corporate Accounting Manager. This role leads day-to-day general ledger activities, close processes, and financial reporting while partnering with FP&A and Operations to deliver timely, accurate results.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership and communication skills, deep GAAP knowledge, and a proactive approach to process improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA license preferred
  • 5-8 years of progressive accounting experience with at least 2+ years in a supervisory role
  • Strong GAAP knowledge and financial reporting experience
  • Experience with ERP systems such as Workday or NetSuite

Responsibilities

  • Manage the month-end close process to ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial statements
  • Supervise accounting staff and provide training, feedback, and professional development
  • Oversee reconciliations, journal entries, and account analyses for multiple entities
  • Ensure adherence to US GAAP and internal control policies
  • Partner with FP&A and Operations to provide financial insights and variance analysis
  • Coordinate with external auditors to support the annual audit
  • Identify and implement process improvements to streamline accounting operations
  • Assist with system enhancements and policy documentation as needed

Job description

SHR Talent is partnering with a rapidly growing, multi-site organization headquartered in Nashville, TN, in their search for a Corporate Accounting Manager to join their accounting and finance leadership team. The Corporate Accounting Manager is a great opportunity for a driven accounting professional to step into a visible, hands-on leadership role within a collaborative and growth-focused environment.

As the Corporate Accounting Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the general ledger, monthly close, and financial reporting processes, and you will work closely with Finance, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), and Operations leaders to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant financial reporting. The Corporate Accounting Manager will also play a key part in developing and refining accounting policies, supporting audit activities, and implementing process enhancements as the company continues to scale.

The ideal candidate for the Corporate Accounting Manager role will have excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills and a strong analytical mindset with a proactive, solution-oriented approach and will be a strong technical accountant and team builder who thrives in a fast-paced setting and is passionate about process improvement, system optimization, and mentoring others.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage the month-end close process to ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial statements

  • Identify and implement process improvements to streamline accounting operations
  • Assist with system enhancements, policy documentation, and special projects as needed
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, preferred
  • 5 - 8 years of progressive accounting experience with at least 2+ years in a supervisory or lead role
  • Blend of public accounting and corporate accounting experience, strongly preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting principles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as Workday, NetSuite, or similar
