Job summary

Opti Staffing partners with an established manufacturing company in Tigard, OR to recruit an experienced Accounting Manager who takes ownership of the finance function and provides insights to leadership.

You will oversee AP/AR/GL, close processes, payroll, and financial reporting while partnering with senior management and the outside CPA to drive profitability and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong experience managing AP, AR, General Ledger, and financial reporting.
• Proven experience with month end and year end close processes.
• Hands on payroll processing experience, including 401(k) contributions and transmittals.
• Advanced QuickBooks experience and MRP/ERP knowledge.
• Solid understanding of GAAP and internal accounting controls.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of daily accounting operations across AP, AR, and GL.
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and year end close processes with journal entries.
• Process biweekly payroll and 401(k) contributions/transmittals.
• Prepare payroll reports for the outside CPA firm.
• Prepare and review financial statements, cash flow, and reports.
• Monitor cash flow, assist budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Support job costing, margin analysis, and factory cost control.
• Collaborate with leadership on financial decisions and strategy.
• Maintain GAAP compliance and liaise with the external CPA for audits.

Accounting Manager Location: Tigard, OR Pay: $100,000 annually Schedule: Monday through Friday, Full Time

You will work directly with the Company President, senior management, and HR while taking ownership of the accounting function. What You'll Do:

• Take ownership of daily accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and year end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
• Process biweekly payroll and manage 401(k) contributions and transmittals
• Prepare quarterly payroll reports for the company's outside CPA firm
• Prepare and review financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports
• Monitor cash flow and assist with forecasting and financial planning
• Maintain accurate accounting records for inventory, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and accrued liabilities
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial variance analysis
• Support job costing, standard costing, and margin analysis within a manufacturing environment
• Identify financial trends, opportunities for cost savings, and areas for improved profitability
• Partner directly with the Company President and leadership team on financial matters and business decisions
• Work closely with the company's outside CPA firm, providing financial documentation for tax planning and filings
• Maintain strong internal controls and ensure accounting practices remain GAAP compliant
• Support internal and external audits and maintain accurate, organized financial records
• Utilize QuickBooks and MRP/ERP systems to manage accounting functions and improve reporting
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve accuracy, and increase efficiency
• Provide guidance and support to accounting staff as needed

What You Need to Have:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong experience managing AP, AR, General Ledger, and financial reporting
• Proven experience with month end and year end close processes
• Hands on payroll processing experience, including 401(k) contributions and transmittals
• Advanced QuickBooks experience
• Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP accounting systems
• Strong Excel skills
• Solid understanding of GAAP and internal accounting controls
• Experience preparing financial statements, reconciliations, and cash flow reports
• Understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
• Experience with job costing, standard costing, and margin analysis
• Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines
• Excellent communication skills and confidence working directly with company leadership
• Manufacturing or midsized company accounting experience strongly preferred

Bonus Points:

Experience working with outside CPA firms, supporting audits, mentoring accounting staff, and improving accounting processes.

The Musts:

You must be a strong, hands on accounting professional! We need someone who can take ownership of the accounting function, manage the details, and provide accurate financial information leadership can rely on. Payroll and 401(k) experience are essential! This position is responsible for processing biweekly payroll and handling 401(k) contributions and transmittals. You need to be comfortable taking ownership of these responsibilities. QuickBooks, MRP/ERP systems, and strong Excel skills are a must! We are looking for someone who understands accounting systems and knows how to use them effectively. Manufacturing accounting experience is highly preferred. Understanding inventory, job costing, margins, and how accounting connects to manufacturing operations will help you succeed in this role.
