Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of accounting professionals with mentorship and performance feedback.
• Manage staff workloads, timelines, and ensure client deadlines are met.
• Oversee accounting operations and financial reporting for nonprofit clients.
• Review financial statements and ensure GAAP compliance and audit readiness.
• Serve as trusted advisor to clients, supporting onboarding and process improvements.
• Coordinate and manage audit engagements from planning through completion.
• Review grant activity, restricted funds, 1099 filings, and other compliance matters.
• Foster strong client relationships while delivering exceptional service.

Kforce's client, a rapidly growing professional services organization, located in the Saint Louis, MO area is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead a team supporting a diverse portfolio of nonprofit clients. The client offers salary, benefits and other company perks. This is a hybrid work environment position with full-time training in the office for the first 2-3 weeks. Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of accounting professionals, providing ongoing mentorship, performance feedback, and professional development
• Manage staff workloads, monitor project timelines, and ensure client deadlines are consistently met
• Oversee accounting operations and financial reporting for a portfolio of nonprofit organizations
• Review financial statements and accounting deliverables, ensuring accuracy, compliance with GAAP, and audit readiness
• Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, supporting onboarding efforts and recommending process improvements
• Coordinate and manage audit engagements from planning through completion
• Review grant activity, restricted funds, 1099 filings, and other compliance-related accounting matters
• Foster strong client relationships while delivering exceptional service and financial guidance

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field required
• 1-2+ years of leadership or management experience
• Public accounting professionals with nonprofit client exposure are highly encouraged to apply
• Experience reviewing financial statements and ensuring GAAP compliance
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership abilities
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
• Nonprofit accounting experience preferred

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
